Joe W. MILLANE

Joe W. MILLANE, 89, of Fairfield, died Thursday, Oct. 15, 2015, at University of Iowa Hospitals and Clinics in Iowa City.

The funeral will be 10 a.m. Monday at St. Mary Catholic Church in Fairfield, with the Rev. Nick Adam officiating. Burial will be in Evergreen Cemetery in Fairfield.

The family will receive friends 5-7 p.m. Sunday at the church, with a Knights of Columbus Rosary recited at 7 p.m.

Donations can be made in Mr. MILLANE's memory to Parkview Care Center or St. Mary Catholic Church. Online condolences can be made at www.raymondfuneralhomes.com.

Arrangements are in the care of Raymond Funeral Home in Fairfield.

Mr. MILLANE was born Feb. 3, 1926, in Fairfield, the son of John Francis and Cecilia ARNDT MILLANE. He married Catherine HORRAS at Mother Cabrini Catholic Church in Richland.

He graduated from Fairfield High School and lived in rural Fairfield most of his life.

Mr. MILLANE farmed all of his life.

He was an (sic) U.S. Army veteran who served in the Korean War (sic - Korean Conflict).

He was a member of St. Mary Catholic Church and the Knights of Columbus 4th degree.

Mr. MILLANE enjoyed spending time with his family. He loved the land and working outdoors. He also enjoyed taking care of his dogs.

Survivors include: his wife; three brothers and four sisters, John A. MILLANE of Packwood, Sister Janefrances of Alexishafen, New Guinea; Edward MILLANE of Davenport; Sister Pacelli of Quebec, Canada; Kathryn GREINER of Cedar Rapids; Rita HAMMES of Fairfield; and Jim MILLANE of Fairfield.

He was preceded by: his parents; and one brother, Leo MILLANE.
