Byron L. WIXOM

The Rev. Byron L. WIXOM, 50, of Keosauqua, died at 5 a.m. Saturday, Aug. 1, 2015, in the emergency room of Van Buren County Hospital in Keosauqua.

The funeral will be at 3 p.m. Tuesday at Pedrick Funeral Home in Keosauqua, with the Rev. Tim DeVrys officiating. Cremation will follow the service, with private burial of cremains at a later date.

Visitation with family present will be 2-3 p.m. Tuesday prior to the service at the funeral home.

Memorials to the family can be left at the funeral home or mailed to the family at 504 Market St., Keosauqua 52565.

The Rev. WIXOM was born Jan. 9, 1965, in Fort Madison, the son of Robert and Carole HOWARD WIXOM. He married Beverly FULLER June 20, 1987, in Mt. Pleasant.

The Rev. WIXOM graduated from Harmony High School and Mid-America Nazarene University in Olathe, Kansas.

He became an ordained minister and pastored several churches, including Farmington and Albia Nazarene, Burlington Free Methodist and Lehigh and Keosauqua Methodist churches.

He presently worked at McDonald's in Fairfield.

He especially loved animals and had a favorite cat named Tiger.

Survivors include: his wife; three daughters, Amy WIXOM-CLAWSON, Wendy and Sarah WIXOM; and one son, Benjamin WIXOM, all of Keosauqua; his mother of Bloomfield; one sister, Teri WOLF of Fort Madison; and two brothers, Mike WIXOM of Fort Madison and Bradley WIXOM of Sutter, Illinois.

He was preceded in death by his father; one brother, Ronnie WIXOM; and one sister, Kymn RAZSLER.
