Paul Laverne KNOX

Paul Laverne KNOX, 58, of Birmingham, died at 5:30 a.m. Sunday, Nov. 30, 2014, at home from Lou Gehrig's disease.

The funeral is planned for 10 a.m. Wednesday at Zion Bible Church in Douds, with the Rev. Blake Rispens officiating. Burial will be in Zion Lutheran Cemetery (note: in Van Buren Co., IA).

Visitation will open at 3 p.m. Tuesday at Pedrick Funeral Home in Keosauqua, with the family present from 5-7 p.m.

Memorials to the family can be left at the funeral home, church or mailed to the family at 12245 Jasmine Ave., Birmingham 52535.

Mr. KNOX was born Aug. 30, 1956, in Pensacola, Florida, the son of Donald and Jane SEELYE KNOX. He married Lori DeTAVERNIER Aug. 26, 1978, in North Branch, Michigan.

Mr. KNOX lived most of his life in Michigan and moved to Iowa in 2004.

He was a featured speaker and writer on OutreachOutdoors.com, IowaWhitetail.com, Quality Deer Management Association and Michigan Sportsman.

He was a member of Zion Bible Church.

Mr. KNOX lived his life passion through his business Dbltree Habitat Enhancement and sharing his Christian faith. He gave of his knowledge, skills, time and support to anyone in need.

Survivors include: his wife Lori of Birmingham; one son, Jesse of Birmingham; his mother, Jane KNOX of Lapeer, Michigan; three sisters, Cheryl WOODY of Columbiaville, Michigan, Julie KNOX of Redmond, Washington, and Beth KNOX of Issaquah, Washington; and one brother, Clint KNOX of Athol, Idaho.

He was preceded in death by his father, Donald KNOX.
