From Jefferson County, Iowa History LEDGER: Thurs., July 8, 1949:
Word was received yesterday by Mrs. Carrie(Rizor)Brown of this city, of the death of Mrs. Alec Allerdice, 89, of Centerville, Iowa. A former Jefferson County woman, Mrs. Allerdice died at the home of her daughter, Mrs. James Blythe. She was well known in the vicinity as Mary Lib Rizor, daughter of the late Peter Rizor, and was born in the old log cabin by Glendale, which was her childhood home. Mrs. Allerdice was preceded in death by her husband and two children, son Jess, killed several years ago in a train accident, and a daughter, Mrs. Elizabeth Davis of Mystic. She is survived by three sons, Charles of Washington State; Hugh of Ottumwa, and William; and two daughters, Mrs.Kate Parsons of Mankato, Kansas, and Mrs. Mable Blythe of Centerville.
