Alexandra 'Alex' Tace HIGDON

Alesandra "Alex" Tace HIGDON, age 20 of Libertyville, formerly of Fairfield, passed away November 16, 2014.

Visitation for family and friends will be held from 6:00-8:00 pm, November 20, 2014 at Behner Funeral Home in Fairfield, Iowa.

A funeral service will be held 10:30 am Friday, November 21 at Behner Funeral Home with Pastor Steve Higdon officiating. Cremation will follow the service with burial of cremains at a later date.

In lieu of flowers memorials may be made to Noah's Ark. Cards and memorials can be sent to: 14556, Washington St., Douds, Iowa 52551.

Alexandra was born on February 13, 1994 in Ottumwa, Iowa to Shane HIGDON and Melanie (NOE) MILLER.

Alex was currently attending Southeastern Community College in Burlington where she was studying to be a graphic artist. Alex had a soft spot for all animals, she especially enjoyed spending time with her 3 dogs; Casper, Aspen and Baya. She had a passion for rescuing animals and finding them a loving home. Alex enjoyed reading, swimming, playing tennis and spending time with family and friends. She had a great sense of humor and contagious laugh.

Alex is survived by her parents, Shane (Natalie) HIGDON of Fairfield, Iowa and Melanie (Mark) MILLER of Douds, Iowa; one sister, Penelope HIGDON of Douds, Iowa; one brother, Dean HIGDON of Fairfield, Iowa; Significant Other, Sam Humble of Libertyville, Iowa; Grandparents, Stephen and Cathy HIGDON of Maui, Hawaii, Butch and Gretchen VAN DE VOORDE of Fairfield, Iowa; Janie NELSON of Fairfield, Iowa and Ed and Susan MILLER of Libertyville, Iowa; aunts and uncles, Renee (David) GAUMER of Florida, Joe (Jennifer) NOE of North Little Rock, Arkansas, Dale NOE of Fairfield, Iowa, Jen (Chuka) McLAIN of Lockridge, Iowa, Jeff (Dana) MILLER of Ollie, Iowa, Stephen HIGDON of Fairfield, Iowa, Roxie (Doug) KUEHL of Fairfield, Iowa, Missy Stoner ALLEN of Lockridge, Iowa, and Sunny (Erik) ALLISON of Fairfield, Iowa; and many cousins.

Alex is preceded in death by her grandfather, Leslie Theodore NOE.

Two people found dead at motel

The Fairfield Police Department is investigating an incident in which two individuals were found unconscious and later pronounced deceased at 11:12 a.m. Sunday at the Super 8 Motel in Fairfield.

The individuals were identified as Alexandra HIGDON, 20, of Libertyville, and Casey Griffin, 24, of Fairfield. Both have been transported to the State Medical Examiner's Office for autopsies.

Anyone with information regarding the case, or anyone who had contact with either individual over the weekend should contact Lt. Julie Harvey at the Fairfield Police Department at 472-4146.
