Death's Harvest at Pleasant Plain.

...Joseph KASKA, one of the oldest and best known members of the Polish settlement in the northeastern part of Jefferson county, died in Chicago the 25th ult., whither he had been taken for medical treatment several weeks ago. He was forty-six years of age, and had been a resident of the United States since 1854. His wife and seven children survive him. The remains were interred in the German Catholic cemetery near Germanville Friday....

(Note: Tombstone in St. Joseph's Cemetery at East Pleasant Plain, so apparently his remains were later removed to that place.)

Not related to the subject. Transcribed for informational purposes only.

Admin. note: This obituary is one of several in the article and has been separated out for individual persons. Joseph's wife, Magdalene 'Margaret' POHREN, remarried to George HOOK and died in 1930; she is buried in St. Joseph Catholic Cemetery.
