LaMarr M. O'NEILL

LaMarr M. O'NEILL, 89, of Fairfield, died Friday morning, Oct. 10, 2014, at Parkview Care Center in Fairfield.

Per Mrs. O'NEILL's wishes, the body has been cremated. A graveside service will be held at a later date in Las Vegas, Nevada.

A memorial to Habitat for Humanity can be mailed to the family at 1166 Highway 1, Fairfield 52556.

Gould Funeral Home is assisting with arrangements.

Mrs. O'NEILL was born May 16, 1925, in Los Angeles, California, the daughter of Thomas and Maxine O'NEILL. She married Clarence W. BIDDLE in 1946 in Los Angeles. He died in 1970.

Mrs. O'NEILL grew up in Long Beach, California, and graduated from Fairfax High School in 1944.

She worked for Central Telephone Co. as a telephone operator in Las Vegas from 1957-1963, then returned working for Western Union Telegraph Co. where she had worked as a young woman right out of high school. She retired in 1984 in Palm Springs, California.

She moved to Fairfield in 1993 to be near family.

She was a member of First Presbyterian Church in Fairfield.

She was one of the original board members of Greater Fairfield Area Chapter of Habitat for Humanity, which her granddaughter now serves on.

She was a longtime volunteer for Jefferson County Hospital Auxiliary and many other community organizations.

Mrs. O'NEILL sang for many years with the Sweet Adelines. She was an avid reader and well known at the Fairfield Public Library.

Survivors include: one daughter, Aleta MOTTET and husband Joe of Fairfield; one son. Bill BIDDLE and wife Lorraine of Las Vegas; two grandchildren; and four great-granddaughters.

In addition to her husband, she was preceded in death by her parents; her youngest son; and her infant daughter.
