John "Jake" HOLLEY, 24, of Orange City, formerly of Libertyville, son of Aaron and Juli WAUGH, died Thursday, Sept. 25, 2014, at his home.

Arrangements are pending at Pedrick Funeral Home in Douds.

John "Jake" Daniel Wright HOLLEY, 24, of Orange City died Wednesday, Sept. 24, 2014 at home.

The body has been cremated. A graveside service and burial of cremains will be at 10:30 a.m. Thursday in Mt. Moriah Cemetery north of Douds, with the Rev. Jeff Richard officiating.

Visitation will open at 3 p.m. Wednesday at Pedrick Funeral Home in Douds, with family present 5-7 p.m.

Memorials to the culinary arts department of Indian Hills Community College can be left at the funeral home or cemetery or mailed to the family at 10417 Dewberry Ave., Libertyville 52567.

Mr. HOLLEY was born Sept. 23, 1990, in Bakersfield, California.

He grew up in the Libertyville community, and graduated from Fairfield High School and Indian Hills Community College's culinary arts program, where he was honored by being on the dean's list.

He was a chef at Northwestern Christian College in Orange City.

In 2008, he was the first State of Iowa Army Youth Volunteer of the Year award winner.

Survivors include: his parents, Aaron and Juli WAUGH of Libertyville, Lee GANT of Fairfield and Kent HOLLEY of Grand Island, Nebraska; two brothers, Steve GANT of Muscatine and Matthew "Rusty" GANT of Boulder, Colorado; and grandparents, James WAUGH of Libertyville and Duane and Kay HOLLEY of Grand Island, Nebraska.

The graveside service for John "Jake" HOLLEY, 24 of Orange City has been changed to a memorial service at 10:30 a.m. Thursday at Pedrick Funeral Home in Douds.

Burial will be at a later date in Mt. Moriah Cemetery north of Douds.

Visitation will open at 3 p.m. Wednesday at the funeral home with family present 5-7 p.m.
