George A. WESELY 91, of Lockridge died Thursday, Sept. 18, 2014, at Park Place Elder Living Center in Mt. Pleasant.

Funeral arrangements are pending at the Murphy Funeral Home of Mount Pleasant.

George A. WESELY 91, of Lockridge died Thrusday, Sept, 18, 2014, at Park Place Elder Living Center in Mt. Pleasant.

A celebration of life and fellowship service is planned for 11 a.m. Saturday at the Lockridge Community Center, in Lockridge. Burial will be in the Lockridge Cemetery at a later date. Cremation has been accorded.

Memorials can be directed to the Lockridge Fire and Rescue. Online condolences for the family can be made at www.murphyfuneralandmonuments.com.

Murphy Funeral Home of Mt. Pleasant is handling arrangements.

Mr. WESELY was born June 5, 1923, at Keosauqua, the son of Frank and Mary COOPER WESELY. He married Lorna Jean GRAFF March 26, 1948, in Iowa City. She died July 31, 2013.

Mrs. WESELY worked in the family stone quarry as a child in 1935, the family moved to Williamsburg and he helped on the farm, later the family moved to a farm south of Trenton.

After their marriage, the couple lived with his parents for a year before moving to the Elgar Farm. They farmed in the Trenton and White Oak areas and bought a farm northeast of Lockridge in 1964. He had worked for a summer for the CB & Q Railroad.

Survivors include: children, Mike WESELY and wife Marsha of Lockridge, Dan WESELY and wife Kay of Salem, Iowa, Jackie McLACHLAN of Mt. Pleasant, Dennis WESELY and wife Julie, Curtus WESELY and Karla SCHAFER all of Lockridge; nine grandchildren; 10 great-grandchildren; three sisters, Dorothy BURTON of Aurora, Illinois, Jane GILSON of Omaha, Nebraska, and Genieve FETTERMAN of Salem; and two brothers,: (sic) Mike WESELY of Mt. Pleasant and Charlie WESELY of Salem.

In addition to his wife, he was preceded in death by his parents; three brothers, Paul, Frank Jr. "Joe" and John; and three sisters, Priscilla, Erma Jean and Bertha.
