Cheryl Joan GRIFFIN, 67, of Fairfield, died Monday, July 7, 2014, at University of Iowa Hospitals and Clinics in Iowa City, IA.

A memorial service is set for 11 a.m. Friday at Behner Funeral Home, with the Rev. Danny Cary officiating. Burial of cremains, with military rites, will be at Memorial Lawn Cemetery in Fairfield.

Visitation for family and friends will be 10-11 a.m. Friday, prior to the service, at the funeral home.

Memorials can be made to Noah's Ark Animal Foundation. Cards and memorials can be sent to 107 N. Morgan St., Fairfield 52556. Online condolences can be made at behnerfh.com.

Mrs. GRIFFIN was born Jan. 24, 1947, the daughter of Joe and Dorothy NICHOLS SROUT. She married Danny Ray GRIFFIN April 24, 1982, in Fairfield. He died Sept. 25, 1987.

Mrs. GRIFFIN lived in the Fairfield area all her life.

She was very proud to have served in the U.S. Army. She worked at Iowa Army Ammunition Plant in Middletown, Excel in Ottumwa and did house cleaning.

She loved spending time with her dogs and being with friends. She liked going to garage sales, and she collected horses.

Mrs. GRIFFIN is survived by cousins.

In addition to her husband, she was preceded in death by her parents and grandparents.
