Dennis M. WILSON

Dennis M. WILSON, 67, of Farmington, died Tuesday, June 10, 2014, at home.

The body has been cremated. A memorial service will be held at a later date.

A memorial has been established in his memory and may be mailed to the family at: Schmitz-Lynk Funeral Home, PO Box 56, Donnellson 52625.

Schmitz-Lynk Funeral Home in Farmington is assisting the family with arrangements.

Mr. WILSON was born March 21, 1947, in Fairfield, the son of Paul K. and Lois W. BOLES WILSON.

He graduated from Bushnell-Prairie City High School in Bushnell, Illinois.

He attended Western Illinois University in Macomb, Illinois.

He was a veteran of the U.S. Navy and had served during the Vietnam War (sic - Vietnam Conflict) in a submarine off the coast of Europe.

He was a retired woodcarver and had owned and operated his own woodcarving business since 1996. One of his well-known pieces, a totem pole, stands in the Indian Lake Park near Farmington. Wood carving was his passion.

Survivors incude three daughters, Buffy RAKOZ and spouse Leland of Vancouver, Washington, Sierra BECKMAN of Richfield, Minnesota, and Anna WISEMAN of Fairfield; one son Travis WILSON and spouse Mariska of Santa Barbara, California; four grandchildren; two brothers, Paul E. "Gene" WILSON and Steven M. WILSON; and two sisters, Judy HEYN and Cheryl MILLER.

He was preceded in death by his parents, and one brother, James E. WILSON.
