Jeffrey Steven Boyer, 40, of Douds died at 12:30 p.m. Sunday, April 25, 2004, at University of Iowa Hospitals and Clinics in Iowa City.

The funeral will be held at 11 a.m. Thursday at Living Hope Bible Church in Eldon, with the Rev. David Albert officiating.

Visitation will begin at 2 p.m. Wednesday at Pedrick Funeral Home in Douds, with family present from 7-8 p.m.

Memorials may be left at the funeral home or mailed to the family at 13730 Highway 98, Douds 52551.

Mr. Boyer was born Nov. 21, 1963, in Fairfield, the son of Jerry and Betty Gilbert Boyer.

He grew up and lived his life in the Douds community. He graduated from Cardinal High School, Indian Hills Community College and Iowa Wesleyan College. While doing graduate work at Northwest Missouri State University, Maryville, he was honored as a student representative at a president's conference at Northeast Missouri State University in Kirksville.

Mr. Boyer worked at the Van Buren County Sheriff's Office and Van Buren Good Samaritan Center in Keosauqua to fulfill his Responsible Social Involvement requirement at Iowa Wesleyan College. He had been employed at Keith's Grocery in Bloomfield and Rockwell International in Fairfield.
He was a partner with his father in J&J Auto Sales in Douds.

He was a Harley-Davidson motorcycle enthusiast.

Mr. Boyer was a member of Living Hope Bible Church.

Survivors include his parents.
