Wilma M. LOOMIS, 95 of Fairfield died Thursday, March 27, 2014, at Jefferson County Health Center in Fairfield.

Arrangements are pending at Raymond Funeral Home in Fairfield.

Wilma M. LOOMIS

Wilma M. LOOMIS, 95, of Fairfield died Thursday, March 27, 2014, at Jefferson County Health Center in Fairfield.

A graveside service is set for 11 a.m. Tuesday at Mt. Moriah Cemetery north of Douds, with the Rev. Frosty Van Voorst.

Memorials can be made to First Christian Church (Disciples of Christ) in Fairfield. Online condolences can be sent to raymondfuneralhomes.com.

Arrangements are in the care of Raymond Funeral Home in Fairfield.

Mrs. LOOMIS was born May 6, 1918, near Douds, the daughter of Harold L. and Esther Marie FERREL STUMP. She married John Stanley "Stan" LOOMIS June 11, 1937, in Davenport. He died Oct. 17, 1995.

Mrs. LOOMIS grew up in the Douds community. She attended rural schools and graduated from Douds High School.

She and her husband lived in the Chicago area before moving to Fairfield in 1946.

Mrs. LOOMIS worked as a housekeeper, at the Fairfield Newsstand and in the kitchen at Parsons College. She did alterations for the Dads & Lads Clothing Store in Fairfield and retired as manager of The Bargain Box.

Mrs. LOOMIS was a member of First Christian Church (Disciples of Christ) in Fairfield for more than 70 years. She was a member of the Christian Women's Fellowship and the Walton Club.

Survivors include: one son, Richard S. LOOMIS and wife Belinda of Bettendorf; one daughter, Shirley WEBER of Douds; five grandchildren; 13 great-grandchildren; six great-great-grandchidlren (sic); and one sister, "Willie" DOUD of Ottumwa.

In addition to her husband, she was preceded in death by: her parents; one son-in-law Fay WEBER; and one great-grandson.
