Curt Dean FLEIG

Curt Dean FLEIG, 55, of Mt. Pleasant, died Sunday, March 23, 2014.

A funeral is at 1:30 p.m. Thursday at First United Methodist Church in Mt. Pleasant, with the Rev. Grady Miller and the Rev. Deborah Stowers officiating. Inurnment will be at a later date.

Visitation is noon to 7 p.m. Wednesday at Olson-Powell Memorial Chapel in Mount Pleasant, where the family will receive friends from 4-7 p.m.

In lieu of flowers, memorials have been established to Grace Community Friends Church and Camp Quaker Heights.

Mr. FLEIG was born Feb. 21, 1959, in Fairfield, the son of Delbert Ross and Marjorie Ann SENTS FLEIG. He married Jolene Marie MITCHELL June 23, 1984.

He was a 1977 graduate of Pekin-Packwood High School.

He attended college at Friends Bible College in Haviland, Kan.

He worked at Cargill Seed Company for 25 years. The was then employed by Metrogroup Corporation, and most recently, Walmart Distribution Center. He worked part time for Leslie Heating and Cooling.

He enjoyed staying connected with his friends on Facebook.

He loved to ride his motorcycle and tinker in his garage. Mushroom hunting on the family farm was a favorite pastime.

Survivors include his wife, Jolene, of Mt. Pleasant; one son, Marcus FLEIG of Coralville; one daughter, Kiersten "Kjtt" of Mt. Pleasant; his parents, Delbert and Marge of Mt. Pleasant; and two sisters, Carol MILLER of Independence, Kan., and Cindy HOEKSEMA of Clive.

He was preceded in death by his maternal and paternal grandparents.
