Dorothy Jane CHASTEEN KIRKMAN, 86, of Keosauqua, died at 1:14 p.m. Monday, Feb. 24, 2014, at Good Samaritan Society-Van Buren in Keosauqua.
A funeral is at 6 p.m. Wednesday at Pedrick Funeral Home in Keosauqua, with Lee McIntosh officiating. Private burial will be in Clover Hill Cemetery, Harrodsburg, Ind.
Visitation with family present is 5-6 p.m. prior to the service.
Memorials to HCI Hospice may be left at the funeral home or mailed to the family at 28132 Route V-56, Milton 52570.
Mrs. KIRKMAN was born June 12, 1927, near Bedford, Ind., the daughter of Henry and Frances BRINEGAR CHASTEEN. She married William D. KIRKMAN March 1, 1945. He died March 3, 1987.
Following her husband's death she moved to Milton and later to Keosauqua.
She and her husband were members of Assembly of God Church for many years.
Survivors include one daughter, Beverly EADS and spouse Burton of Milton; one son, Mike KIRKMAN of Bloomington, Ind.; four grandchildren; 15 great-grandchildren; and two sisters, Florence CHILDERS and Wilma CHARLES, both of Bedford, Ind.
In addition to her husband, she was preceded in death by her parents; four brothers, John, James, Joseph and Marshall CHASTEEN; four sisters, Edna JACKSON, Mary PATTON, Thelma SULLIVAN and Marjorie REEVES; and one granddaughter.
