Marcellyn Kay 'Marcey' CHUCK

Marcelly Kay "Marcey" CHUCK, 45, a resident of Opportunity Village at Clear Lake, died Friday, May 2, 2003, at the Muse Norris Hospice Inpatient Unit in Mason City.

A memorial service was held at 3 p.m. today at Opportunity Village Center and another one will be held at 10:30 a.m. Tuesday at St. Joseph Catholic Church in East Pleasant Plain, with the Rev. Charles J. Fladung officiating. Burial will be in St. Joseph Cemetery in East Pleasant Plain.

Visitation will be held one hour prior to the service at the church.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the Marcey Churck (sp) Memorial Project Fund for Opportunity Village.

Gould Funeral Home in Brighton is in charge of arrangements.

Ms. CHUCK was born Aug. 12, 1957, in Mason City, the daughter of Edward and Hazel SUPALLA CHUCK.

Ms. CHUCK was born with Downs Syndrome. She moved to Opportunity Village while in her early 20s, which provided her with independence and work and educational opportunities.

Survivors include her parents; and two sisters, Cherrelyn CHUCK CASEY of Longmont, Colo., and Gwendolyn CHUCK WILLIAMS of Des Moines.
