Ada Josephine MYERS, 96, of Keosauqua,died Friday, Jan. 31, 2014, at Good Samaritan Society-Van Buren in Keosauqua.
A memorial service and burial of cremains in Fellows Cemetery, Keosauqua, will be at a later date.
Memorials to Van Buren County Food Bank or Fellows Cemetery may be mailed to the family at 17073 235th St., Keosauqua 52565.
Pedrick Funeral Home in Keosauqua is assisting the family.
Mrs. MEYRS was born Jan. 6, 1918, in rural Wayne County, the daughter of Marshall and Mary Etta HAYES HASKELL. She married Jerry Jay MYERS Dec. 3, 1938, in Corydon. He died May 27, 2006.
She graduated from Corydon High School in 1936.
She had been a bookkeeper and telephone operator in Des Moines.
She and her husband owned and operated Ada's Flowers in Keosauqua from 1976 until the Des Moines River flood of 1993 flooded the shop.
She was a founding member of Our Savior's Lutheran Church, Keosauqua, and was active as long as her health permitted.
Survivors include one son, Michael MYERS and spouse Teri of Florence, Ore.; one daughter, Marsha ACHENBACH and spouse Bob of Keosauqua; four grandchildren; and six great-grandchildren.
In addition to her husband, she was preceded in death by her parents; three sisters, Ruth HIATT, Ruby RYDEN and Berneta HASKELL; and three brothers, Hollis, Lester and Doyle HASKELL.

A memorial service for Ada J. MYERS, 96, of Keosauqua who died Friday, Jan. 31, 2014, at Good Samaritan Society-Van Buren in Keosauqua will be at 10:30 a.m. Saturday at Our Savior Lutheran Church in Keosauqua, with the Rev. Steve Rasmussen officiating.
Visitation with family present will be 9:30-10:30 a.m. prior to the service at the church.
Burial of cremains will be in Fellows Cemetery, Keosauqua (note: in Van Buren Co., IA).
Memorials to Van Buren County Food Bank or Fellows Cemetery can be left at the church or mailed to the family at 17073 235th St., Keosauqua 52565.
Pedrick Funeral Home, Keosauqua is handling the arrangements.
