Edith Mae BAKER, 91, of Washington, Iowa, died Saturday Feb. 1, 2014, at McCreedy Home in Washington.
A funeral is at 10:30 a.m. Wednesday at Brighton United Church, with the Rev. Rick Zickefoose officiating. Burial will be in Antioch Cemetery north of Fairfield.
Family will greet friends at the church 9:30-10:30 a.m. Wednesay, the hour immediately preceding the funeral.
Memorials for the Antioch Cemetery may be left at the church or mailed to the family at PO Box 9, Brighton 52540.
Arrangements are in the care of the Gould Funeral Home in Brighton.
Mrs. BAKER was born Oct. 23, 1922, in Fairfield the daughter of Clifford F. and Berniece KANE BATES. She married George V. BAKER May 4, 1940, in Kirksville, Mo. He died Aug. 10, 1997.
She attended Fairfield schools.
She was a farm homemaker.
She worked at Advance Ross for 10 years and the Handy Pantry Grocery Store for eight years.
Survivors include one son, Robert E. BAKER and spouse Georgia of Washington, Iowa; three daughters, Joyce EMRY of Brighton, Judy SMITH of Washington and Karen CLIFTON and spouse Chuck of Mechanicsville; 10 grandchildren; 18 great-grandchildren; and one brother, Paul BATES of Fairfield.
In addition to her husband, she was preceded in death by her parents; four sons, LeRoy, Dean, George Jr. and Dale; and one brother, Merle BATES.
