James 'Poge' POGEMILLER

James "Poge" POGEMILLER, 72, formerly of Omaha, Neb., died Sunday, Dec. 22, 2013, at Jefferson County Health Center in Fairfield.

A celebration of life is at 2 p.m. Jan. 5, at the Fairfield Arts & Convention Center. Private burial of cremains will be held at a later date at Batavia City Cemetery.

Memorials to the family may be left at the Fairfield Arts & Convention Center or mailed to the family at 18824 110th Road, Birmingham 52535.

Mr. POGEMILLER was born June 11, 1941, in Fairfield, the son of Mark and Bernice JONES POGEMILLER. He married Beverly PALM Sept. 24, 1960. They later divorced after 22 years of marriage. He married Sharon SCULL July 12, 1982. She preceded him in death on Dec. 27, 2012.

He was a graduate of Fairfield High School and attended Parsons College.

He worked at JC Penney, the Iowa Army Ammunition Plant and Perry Clothing.

He was a professional men's clothier and the proprietor of the Dad and Lad Shop, J Poge's Menswear, Poge's Rothchilds, and had recently retired from Lindley Clothing in Omaha.

He was a member of Kiwanis, Lions, and Omaha Business Breakfast clubs.

He was an avid golfer, a dog lover and enjoyed spending time with family and friends.

Survivors include one daughter, Jackie GREENFIELD and spouse Wes of Birmingham; one son, Doug POGEMILLER and spouse Mike PETERSON of Austin, Texas; three stepchildren, Rick SCULL and spouse Rita of Scottsburg, Ind., Dennis HUGHES and spouse Connie of Colorado Springs, Colo., Michelle PETERS and spouse Jerry of Omaha, Neb.; one brother, Tom of O'Fallon, Mo.; six grandchildren; 23 step-grandchildren; and four step-great-grandchildren.

In addition to his wife, he was proceeded (sic - preceded) in death by his parents; one brother, Jerry; and a stepdaughter, Debbie MAIRET.
