HUSBAND AND WIFE BOTH GONE: Simon C. Fry and his wife, Martha J. White, Des Moines Township. Mrs. Fry died on the 26th ult., Mr. Fry’s death occurred on the 1st inst. She was born in Hancock County, Ind., April 22, 1832, came to Iowa in the spring of 1846, and in September 1853 was married to Mr. Fry… Mr. Fry was born in Bedford County, Penn., Sept. 1833, and came to Iowa early in 1846. He remained here three years and then made a trip to California. After his return to Iowa he married Miss White and settled down on the farm on which he spent the remainder of his life. Seven children -- one son and six daughters. Five of the latter are now living -- Mrs. J. J. Welday, Mrs. George Copeland, Minnie and Allie in this county, and Mrs. Topping in Van Buren County
