Edith CHURCH

MOUNT PLEASANT – Edith CHURCH, 84, of Mount Pleasant, former resident of Round Prairie community, died Tuesday, June 15, 1993, at Henry County Health Center.

The service will be at 10 a.m. Friday at the Calvary Baptist Church in Mount Pleasant with the Rev. Jerry Crawford officiating. Burial will be in Forest Home Cemetery. Open visitation begins at noon Thursday at Weir Funeral Home in Mount Pleasant, where memorials to Calvary Baptist Church or Mount Pleasant Senior citizen Center may be left.

Mrs. CHURCH was born Nov. 1, 1908, in Round Prairie Township in Jefferson County, the daughter of George and Myrtle PETERSON SMITH. She worked in the dietary department of the former Henry County Memorial Hospital before marrying Harold W. CHURCH on Nov. 24, 1938. She was a past member of the Round Prairie Baptist Church and current member of the Calvary Baptist Church.

Surviving are her husband of Henry County Health Center; two sons, Dean W. of Mount Pleasant, Walter S. of Salem; three grandchildren and three great-grandchildren. A brother Howard SMITH, and a sister, Rachel McSWEENY, preceded her in death.
