Emma Elizabeth RITCHEY

Emma Elizabeth RITCHEY, 15, of New London, died Saturday, October 12, 2013, in a vehicle accident east of New London.

Emma was born June 17, 1998 in Burlington, the daughter of Brett Curtis and Bonnie Sue RIFE RITCHEY.

She was a freshman at New London High School and had attended school in Mediapolis. She lived her life to the fullest and lived like there was no tomorrow, saying what was on her mind, never judging people and telling friends to "be who you want to be." If someone was sad, she would do everything in her power to make them smile even if she had to dance. She enjoyed skate boarding, writing and reading poetry, drawing, and reading then giving out all of the details.

Emma is survived by her mother, Bonnie COOPER of New London; father, Brett RITCHEY of Mount Pleasant; step-father, Matthew PRICKETT of Mount Pleasant; two sisters, Tiffany RITCHEY of New London and Natasha RITCHEY of Mount Pleasant; two brothers, Jaden RITCHEY of Wayland and Triztan PRICKETT of New London; grandparents, Cleda and Don RUSSELL and James and Virginia RITCHEY, all of Burlington, Beverly PRICKETT of Wayland, Stephen PRICKETT of Bonaparte, Phil BROBSTON of New London, and Mary SMITH of Burlington; great-grandparents, Carl RIFE of Washington state, Betty BROBSTON of New London, and Sandra PRICKETT of Lockridge; aunts, uncles and cousins and a host of friends; her boyfriend, Marcus McKee; her best friend, Mariah DeWitt; and her min-pin/terrier, Mallard.

A memorial service will be held at 1L30 p.m., Thursday, October 17, 2013 in the New London High School Ronald Coberley Auditorium. Pastor Sam Reighard will officiate. According to her family's wishes, her body has been cremated.

Visitation will begin after noon on Wednesday, October 16 at Elliott Chapel, New London with the family greeting friends from 3:00 to 7:00 p.m.

A memorial has been established.
