Stan ROSEN

Stan ROSEN, 68, of Fairfield passed away unexpectedly early Monday morning, September 9, 2013. Stan was born August 9, 1945, and raised in the Bronx, New York City. He grew up only a few miles away from Judy BAR-SHIMON, the woman he met ten years ago and later married decades after they had each left their childhood neighborhood for college. Stan and Judy met in the Fairfield Library shortly after Stan moved to Fairfield from Cambridge, MA in 2001.

Stan had a notably active and creative mind. In college and graduate school at the University of Wisconsin, he was deeply immersed in studying anthropology. He later applied his creativity to professional writing, becoming an important addition to the creative teams of advertising agencies in San Francisco, Chicago and Boston. Throughout his life, he never stopped developing his own creative projects and writings including, mostly recently, childrens books.

Stan will be deeply missed by friends and by his wife Judy and her children and grandchildren, especially Aytonn who he was able to watch grow up. Stan had a special way of being able to enter a child's world.

Deeply interested in many areas of health and exercise, Stan was a dedicated member of the Roosevelt Recreation Center.

Along with his own practice, he was an avid proponent of exercise and was training to become a fitness trainer especially for the older population.

Donations in his honor may be sent to the Roosevelt Recreation Center.
