Ardis V. FILER

Ardis V. FILER, 80, of Ottumwa, died Wednesday, May 22, 2013, at home.

A service is at 11 a.m. Thursday at Oakland Church of the Nazarene in Cedar Rapids, officiated by the Rev. Dave King. A luncheon will follow. Burial is 3 p.m. at Maple Hill Cemetery in Birmingham.

Visitation is one hour prior to the morning service.

Memorials in lieu of flowers may be made to Oakland Church of the Nazarene.

Mrs. FILER was born Sept. 12, 1932, the daughter of Harry C. and Gertrude KARACHT (sic - KRACHT?). She married Bob G. FILER April 28, 1951.

She attended country school and later graduated in 1950 from Birmingham High School.

She loved her family and enjoyed spending time with them.

Survivors include three sons, Steven FILER and Jan of Minnesota, Philip FILER and Angela of Atlanta, Ga., and Alan FILER of Marion; two daughters, Chris NEKVINDA and Dan of Cedar Rapids and Cindy BARNES and Paul of Ottumwa; 13 grandchildren; 17 great-grandchildren; and one sister, Beverly PHILLIPS of Boone.

She was preceded in death by her parents and one brother, David C. KRACHT.
