M. Elizabeth "Betty" HISEL, 93, of 807 W. Taylor Ave., died at 10:12 p.m. Friday, Oct. 12, 2001, at Nelson Nursing Home.
The funeral was held at 2 p.m. today at Behner Funeral Home, with the Rev. David Peterson officiating. Burial will be at Evergreen Cemetery.
Family visitation was held Sunday at the funeral home. Memorials may be made to Nelson Nursing Home, The American Cancer Society or the donor's choice.
Mrs. HISEL was born Aug. 28, 1908, in Jefferson County, the daughter of L.H. and Frances J. BLAKE EARNEST. She married Delbert H. KELLER and later married Glen HISEL on June 27, 1956. He died July 18, 1992.
She attended Jefferson County Rural Schools and lived all her life in the Fairfield area. She was a homemaker.
She attended the Methodist church and was a member of Bradshaw Helping Hand Club. Her hobbies included crocheting and gardening.
She is survived by three daughters, Wanda McCLARD and husband Raymond "Pete" of Jackson, Mo., Betty TOPPING and husband John "Bill" of Colorado Springs, Colo., and Shirley RYAN and husband John of Marble Hill, Mo.; one son, Forrest "Sam" KELLER and wife Jean of Fairfield; one stepdaughter, Mildred FERGUSON of Keosauqua; two stepsons, Gerald HISEL and wife Delores of Cloquet, Minn., and Steven HISEL and wife Jan of Richland; 13 grandchildren; nine stepgrandchildren; 26 great-grandchildren; 16 stepgreat-grandchildren; eight great-great-grandchildren; seven stepgreat-great-grandchildren; one sister, Cordelle LITTON of Fairfield; and one brother Charles EARNEST of Mediapolis.
