Richard PUFFINBARGER

Richard PUFFINBARGER, 81, of Floris, died at 3:07 a.m., today, Monday, April 1, 2013, at Davis County Hospital in Bloomfield.

Arrangements are pending at Grace Funeral Care in Eldon.

Richard D. PUFFINBARGER

Richard D. PUFFINBARGER, 81, of Floris, died Monday, April 1, 2013, at Davis County Hospital in Bloomfield.

A funeral is at 1 p.m. Thursday at Grace Funeral Care in Eldon, with the Rev. Kent Wilson officiating. Burial will be in Iowaville Cemetery (note - in Van Buren Co., IA).

Visitation with the family will be an hour prior to the service, noon to 1 p.m. Thursday at the funeral home.

A memorial fund is being established for the family and may be left at Grace Funeral Care, PO Box 10, Eldon 52554.

Mr. PUFFINBARGER was born Aug. 24, 1931, in Selma, the son of Ray and Grace HUGHES PUFFINBARGER. He married Donna RUMMERFIELD Sept. 27, 1998, in Kirksville, Mo.

He was educated in local country schools.

He worked as a welder, electrician and heavy equipment operator at John Deere for many years. He also owned his own small engine business.

He enjoyed playing the guitar and singing, and spent many hours chatting and telling stories.

Survivors include his wife, Donna PUFFINBARGER of Floris; one daughter, Ricki CASSILL of Iowa City; one son, Joshua PUFFINBARGER of Anamosa; five stepchildren; five grandchildren; 10 stepgrandchildren; two great-grandchildren; four stepgreat-grandchildren; and one sister, Murl GREEN of Sigourney.

He was preceded in death by his parents; one son, John; one grandson; one sister; and six brothers.
