Wendal MORLAN dies at 55

Wendal C. MORLAN, 55, died sometime during the weekend at his home, 604 E. Pierce. Dr. Terry Sutton, Jefferson County Coroner, said cause of death is unknown. An autopsy is being performed in Des Moines by the state pathologist, Dr. Thomas Bennett.

The service is set tentatively for 2 p.m. Friday at Raymond Funeral Home.

Morlan had been a shop foreman at Jefferson County Equipment Company.

Wendal MORLAN service Friday

The service for Wendal C. MORLAN, 55, 604 E. Pierce Ave., who died Sunday, May 29, 1988, will be at 2 p.m. Friday at Raymond Funeral Home with the Rev. Richard Wallarab officiating. Burial will be in Evergreen Cemetery. The family will receive friends at the funeral home from 1 p.m. until time for the service to begin. Memorials to Jefferson County parks may be left at the funeral home.

MORLAN was born Sept. 27, 1932, at Gorin, Mo., the son of Curtis D. and Mary A. DENNIS MORLAN. He grew up in Gorin and Moulton, graduating from Moulton High School in 1950. He was married to the former Charlene FULLER. He was a veteran of the U.S. Army, Korean War, associated with the Methodist church and a member of the Elks Lodge. A Fairfield resident for the last 30 years, he had worked for Hudgell-Evans and was shop foreman with Jefferson County Equipment Company at the time of his death.

Surviving are his parents of Moberly, Mo.; four brothers, Michael D. of Moberly, Fairel L. of Des Moines, Allen C. of Moulton, Ronald C. of West Burlington; two sisters, Rosemary MORLAN of Des Moines, Estel Ann SAVILL of Bellevue; several nieces and nephews.
