Gertrude L. SMITH

Gertrude L. SMITH, 92, of Parkview Care Center, died at 5:12 p.m. Thursday, Feb. 27, 1992, at Jefferson County Hospital.

The service will be at 10 a.m. Monday at Behner Funeral Home with the Rev. Charles Kaufmann officiating. Burial will be in Evergreen Cemetery. Open visitation begins at Saturday noon. Memorials have been established to Free Methodist Church and Parkview Care Center Activity Fund.

Mrs. SMITH was born May 9, 1899, in Jefferson County, the daughter of David and Nellie LATHERS FAULKNER. She married Raymond Henry SMITH on April 21, 1920, in Fairfield. He died March 22, 1961. A homemaker, she lived most of her life in Jefferson County. She was a member of Free Methodist Church.

Surviving are a daughter, Dorothy M. HICKENBOTTOM of rural Batavia; three grandchildren; three great-grandchildren; 10 ste-great-grandchildren and a brother, Robert FAULKNER of Carthage, Texas. A sister, Margaret PORTER and a half-sister, Lucille MERRILL, preceded her in death.
