GLASS dies at 78

Walter Thomas GLASS, 78, former Fairfield resident, died Friday at the Countryside Nursing Center in Aurora, Ill.

Services will be held Tuesday at 10:30 a.m. at St. Mary Catholic Church here with the Rev. William Sullivan officiating. Burial will be in Evergreen Cemetery.

Prayers for a Christian Wake will be held Monday at 7 p.m. at the Behner Funeral Home.

Rites Tuesday for W. GLASS

Services for Walter Thomas GLASS, 78, will be at 10:30 a.m. Tuesday at St. Mary Catholic Church with the Rev. William Sullivan officiating. Burial will be in Evergreen Cemetery.

Prayer for a Christian Wake will be at 7 p.m. this evening at the Behner Funeral Home.

GLASS, a former resident of Fairfield, died Friday at the Countryside Nursing Home in Aurora, Ill.

He was born Oct. 6, 1903, in Ottumwa. He was the son of David L. and Annette R. PECK GLASS. He was married to Marion Lucille BREESE June 6, 1926, in Aurora.

Survivors include six sons and four daughters: John Eugene and Robert Walter, both of Fairfield; William David, Keosauqua; Thomas Lafayette, Richard Lloyd and Stephen Terrence, all of Aurora; Mary Alice DARR, Keosauqua; Marta Sue HELDENBERG, Albany, Ga.; Barbara Joan DRAY, Aurora; and Virginia Kay GENLER, Aurora.

Other survivors include 30 grandchildren, 14 great-grandchildren; three sisters, Alice SHERWOOD, Lois FIELD and Thelma BURMEISTER, all of Largo, Fla.; and a brother, Clarence GLASS, Clearwater, Fla.

He was preceded in death by a brother and two grandchildren.
