Gary C. DILL

Gary C. DILL, age 74 of Fairfield died Friday, January 18, 2013, at Mercy Hospital in Iowa City.

Gary was born October 12, 1938, at home in Washington County, the son of Cloyce "Shorty" and Bernice DUNBAR DILL.

He grew up in Washington County near Keota. He attended Keota schools and graduated from Keota High School. He attended Central College.

Gary married Frieda WEERMAN on June 27, 1959, at the Westchester Federated Church.

They have lived in the Fairfield community since 1972.

Gary worked in marketing for Standard Oil Agricultural Chemical division. He marketed Iowa Economic Development prograns for 11 years at Indian Hills Community College from 1989 until 2000.

He was an active member of the First Presbyterian Church in Fairfield, where he served on the Board of Elders and was Chairman of the Property committee and sang in the church choir.

He was an avid golfer and loved spending time with his family and friends.

Deceased family members include his parents and 2 sisters: Debbie DILL and Pauline DILL CRULL and a brother Tony DILL.

Surviving are his wife Frieda, 1 son Mark (Melanie) DILL of Dubuque; 2 daughters: Kari FULTON of St. Louis, Mo., Sheri (Steve) BILLINGS of New London; 13 grandchildren: Joshua DILL, Gabe (Ann) DILL, Shelby DILL, Alyson FULTON, Maryn FULTON, Jon FULTON, Kyle CLINGAN, Kolby (Brad) FREEMAN, Kasey CLINGAN, Angie BILLINGS, Diana BILLINGS, Matt BILLINGS, Amanda FULTON (Chris) ROONEY; 3 great grandchildren Parker FREEMAN, Peyton FREEMAN and Madeline ROONEY. 4 Siblings: Robert DILL of Lake Havasu City, Ariz., Audrey HARVEY of Washington, Iowa, Janice ( Rollin) ROYCE of Janesville, Wis., and Sheryl DILL of Washington, Iowa.

Funeral services will be at 10:30 A.M. Tuesday at the First Presbyterian Church with Pastor Joe Phipps officiating.

Burial will be in the Evergreen Cemetery in Fairfield.

The family will receive friends on Monday evening from 5:00 until 7:00 P.M. at the Raymond Funeral Home in Fairfield.

Memorials may be made to the First Presbyterian Church and the First Presbyterian Church Scholarship Fund.

Arrangements are in the care of the Raymond Funeral Home in Fairfield.
