CHARLES PENCE TAKEN IN DEATH. Charles E. Pence, 84, 410 E. Washington Ave., died Wednesday at 4:45 p.m. at the Jefferson County hospital.....Funeral services will be Saturday afternoon at 2:30 p.m., at the Baptist church in Lockridge, Rev. C. H. Peters officiating. Burial will be in the Lockridge cemetery.

Pence was born Aug. 20, 1879 near Ottumwa, Iowa, son of Thomas Samuel and Ann Eliza Carr Pence. Married Carrie E. Clark, March 22, 1917 at Mt. Pleasant. His wife survives him, and also one sister, Mrs. Clarence Mickey of Lockridge. Several nieces and nephews also survive. A brother, Arnold Pence of Washington, died last November and his sisters, Mrs. Mabel Walker, former resident of Fairfield, and Mrs. Frank Clark of Wayland and one small brother are deceased.....Baptist church.....
