Fairfield Daily Journal, May 27, 1916, p.3, col.3. MRS. SARAH J. SWITZER DIED LAST NIGHT. One of the oldest and most highly respected women of this county passed away last night at 11:00 o'clock at the home of her daughter, Mrs. Elizabeth Tucker. Mrs. Switzer was in her 91st year, born in IL Oct. 24, 1825. In early womanhood she was united in marriage to David Switzer, who passed away over 37 years ago. She leaves one sister, Mrs. Nancy Lee of Auburn and one daughter and one son, Mrs. Elizabeth Tucker and Owen Switzer of this city. Five children preceded their mother in death. The remains will be interred in the family cemetery nearby.
