Girl Dies Suddenly

Joyce Kathleen SCOTTON, 16, Fairfield, was pronounced dead on arrival when she was taken to the Jefferson County Hospital by ambulance at 5 p.m. Wednesday.

She was stricken suddenly in an apartment at 54 1/2 W. Burlington. The Jefferson County medical examiner ruled she died of natural causes.

Services will be Saturday at 10:30 a.m. at the Weston Behner Funeral Home. The Rev. D.O. Van Dyne will officiate and interment will be in Evergreen Cemetery.

Joyce Kathleen SCOTTON was born Oct. 23, 1961, in Jefferson County. She was the daughter of Dwain and Violet HAGANS SCOTTON.

Survivors include a son, 14 days old; her parents who reside at the Ranch Trailer Court; two brothers, Leonard, Libertyville, and John, Fairfield; and a sister, Donna SCOTTON, Fairfield. She was preceded in death by one brother.
