Rites Friday for LOWENBERG

Funeral services will be at 10 a.m. Friday at the Raymond Funeral Home for Mary M. LOWENBERG, 98, who died at 7:30 p.m. Tuesday at the Nelson Nursing Home.

Born June 19, 1888 at Highland Center, she was the daughter of Andrew and Hattie ROGERS and was reared in Highland Center. She married Walter E. LOWENBERG March 10, 1909 at Farson. The couple lived in Cherokee, Okla., before moving to Fairfield in 1955.

She was a member of the Batavia Methodist Church and for many years had served as a Grey Lady at the Jefferson County Hospital.

Her husband died Oct. 5, 1961. She also was preceded in death by one son, an infant daughter and her parents.

Surviving are two sons, Eugene LOWENBERG of Keosauqua and Earl LOWENBERG of Fairfield, two grandchildren and four great-grandchildren.

The Rev. Kermit Black will officiate at services. Burial will be in Batavia Cemetery. Friends may call at the funeral home at their convenience.

A memorial to the Jefferson County Hospital Auxiliary has been established.
