Mrs. DANELS Dies At 96

BATAVIA - Maude E. DANELS, 96, died at the Kirk Nursing Home in Agency Monday at 10:30 p.m.

Mrs. DANELS was born Oct. 14, 1880 near Abingdon, the daughter of William Luther and Marilda SNIDER SHELTON. She spent her entire life in the Batavia area and lived for many years on a farm north of Batavia.

She was a member of Gospel Lighthouse Church in Batavia, Rebekah Lodge and Order of Eastern Star.

She married Omer DANELS on Jan. 15, 1902. He preceded her in death as did three sisters and two brothers.

Surviving are one brother, William SHELTON of Des Moines; a nephew, Harold SHELTON who was raised in the home and other nieces and nephews.

Funeral arrangements are pending at Campbell Funeral Chapel in Batavia.

DANELS Rites

BATAVIA - Funeral services for Maude DANELS, 96, who died Monday at Agency, will be Thursday, 1 p.m., at Campbell Funeral Chapel in Batavia with the Rev. Kermit Black officiating. Burial will be in Smith Cemetery.

Admin. note: Buried in Smith Cemetery in Locust Grove Township. Husband Omer died in 1951, aged about 80, and is also buried there.
