“Mary Orr Leech, daughter of Robert and Sarah Harken Orr, born Dec 4 1871 near Pleasant Plain, Iowa; died Mar 31 1954 at the home of her daughter, Mrs. Nellie Oden, Miami, Fla…..married Dec 21 1893 C. J. Leech of near Richland…..One daughter, Nellie. Survived by husband and daughter and one sister, Mrs. Fred Dutton of Oxnard, Calif. Preceded in death by one sister, Mrs. A. A. Humphrey and two brothers John and Verne…..Bur. Friends Cemetery, Richland. Early life spent in and near Pleasant Plain. Lived in Fairfield a few years and for several years have spent the winters in Fla. She taught in the schools of Jefferson County. Member Methodist Church.”
