Col. 4Death of an Aged Woman.
Mrs. Eleanora SINN died at the home of a son, J.A. SINN, in Walnut township Saturday morning. She was stricken with paralysis the Thursday previous and was unable to rally from the attack. She was a native of Germany, born at Oppenheim, and was eighty-two years of age. Growing to womanhood, she was married to Wilhelm GESSERT, and with him came to Iowa, in 1856. The husband died here and she was afterwards married to George SINN, who passed away in Walnut township in 1881. Mrs. SINN was the mother of eight children, seven of whom are living-G.P. and E.H. GESSERT and Mrs. Helen COBLEIGH at Salida, Col., Mrs. Louise KIDD and L.W. SINN at Denver, Col., J.A. SINN in this county, and Mrs. G.W. BOYER in Pottawattamie county. She became a resident of Jefferson county shortly after her removal to Iowa and was a pioneer woman of Walnut township. With a wide acquaintance among the early settlers of northeastern Jefferson county, she had many friends who will regret her death, for she was an excellent woman. The body was interred Monday in the Lower Richwoods cemetery.
