Mrs. WHITE dies at 85

Dorothy M. WHITE, 85, resident of Parkview Care Center, died at 5:27 p.m. Wednesday following an extended illness.

Services will be Friday at 1 p.m. at the Raymond Funeral Home with the Rev. Carl Riggs officiating. Interment will be in Evergreen cemetery.

Dorothy M. WHITE was born July 25, 1893, in England. She was married April 21, 1931, to D. J. "Cap" WHITE. They moved to Fairfield in 1933 and he was head of Everstick Anchor Co. for a number of years. He preceded his wife in death Feb. 1, 1967.

Mrs. WHITE was a member of the First Presbyterian Church.

She is survived by a nephew, James A. HAYES, Decatur, Ill., and a niece who lives in England.

Admin. note: There is some discrepancy regarding her year of birth: In the Social Security Death Index, it's given as 1891. On her gravestone, it's 1892, and in her obituary above it's 1893. At this point it is not certain which year is the correct one, although two of the sources give the month and day as July 25th. Buried in Lot 4th.088 with husband Deverlle J. 'Cap' WHITE.
