Wallace Arden HARVEY

Wallace Arden HARVEY of Wayne County, 82, died Thursday, May 24, 2012, following a four-wheeler accident on his rural Cambria farm.

The funeral was at 10:30 a.m. today at Randolph Funeral Home in Corydon, with the Revs. Jeff Hontz and Clegguart Mitchell officiating. Burial was in Corydon Cemetery in Corydon.

Memorials may be made to Freedom Bible Camp.

He was born May 11, 1930, at the family farm near Harvey, the son of Wade Chester and Welthie Beatrice PEARSON HARVEY. He married Minnette Joan CLINE Dec. 30, 1950, at Round Prairie Baptist Chapel in Lockridge. She died in April 2003. He married Maxine Isabell PARSONS March 19, 2006.

Mr. HARVEY graduated from Fairfield High School in 1949. He and his wife continued school at Baptist Bible Seminary in Fort Worth, Texas. Both graduated from Baptist Bible College in Springfield, Mo., in 1952.

The family farmed in Jefferson and Wayne counties. Mr. HARVEY also worked at John Deere in Ottumwa, in road construction, over the road truck driving and carpentry.

He was a member of Corydon Bible Church, Freedom Bible Camp and the Farm Bureau.

Survivors include his wife, Maxine; two sons, Curtis HARVEY and spouse Kathy of Corydon and Lyle HARVEY and spouse Karmen of Fairfield; two daughters, Wanette PALMER and spouse Calvin of Corydon and Deleta ALEXANDER and spouse Paul of Promise City; 12 grandchildren and 11 great-grandchildren; one brother, Wendell HARVEY of Monrovia, Calif; one sister Winifred LARSON of Fullerton, Calif.; Maxine's children; Jack PARSONS and spouse Judy and Jerry PARSONS and spouse Tracey, all of Leon, Ruth Ann SIGNS and spouse Ed of Des Moines; six grandchildren and two great-grandchildren.

In addition to his first wife, he was preceded in death by his parents; five brothers, Willard, Wesley, Wilbur, Wayne and Walter; one sister Willadene TROUTMAN; and one granddaughter.
