Ruth Muriel Moore Wilson, 94, of Milton died at 9:55 a.m. Wednesday, Nov. 5, 2003, at Van Buren Good Samaritan Center in Keosauqua.

The body has been cremated, according to her request. A memorial service will be held at a later date at Grace United Methodist Church in Milton. Burial of cremains will be in Lebanon Cemetery.

Memorials to Milton Senior Meals or Grace United Methodist Church may be mailed to the family at 23505 Deer Ave., Milton 52570.

Pedrick Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.

Mrs. Wilson was born June 14, 1909, in Hancock County, Ill., the daughter of Harvey and Mabel Martin Moore. She married Craig Jiggs Wilson June 6, 1931 in Carthage, Ill. He died June 2, 1996.

Mrs. Wilson was raised on a farm near Elvaston, Ill., graduating from Elvaston High chool and from Parsons College in Fairfield in 1930 with a degree in biology. She was honored as a Parsons College May Queen. She taught at Milton High School and Bloomfield and Troy schools, retiring in 1971. She and her husband farmed the Wilson Century Farm, north of Milton until retiring to town in 1985.

She was a member of Grace United Methodist Church in Milton, Miltons Womens Club, Chapter AD P.E.O., Coterie Book Club, Top Hat Card Club and Retired Teachers Association. Her pastimes included reading, gardening, letter writing and geneology.

Survivors include one daughter, Joycelyn Holland and husband John of Orange Park, Fla.; one son, Jimmy M. Wilson and wife Nola of Milton; eight grandchildren; 15 great-grandchildren; and several stepgrandchildren.

Besides her husband, she was preceded in death by her parents; and one sister, Kay Walker Drew.
