R. HOOPER

HILLSBORO-- Rex R. HOOPER, 81, died Tuesday afternoon at the New London Care Center.

Funeral services will be Friday, 2 p.m., at Stockport Christian Church with the Rev. Richard Devore officiating. Burial will be in Bentonsport Cemetery (sic - Van Buren Co., IA). Memorials to the Stockport Christian Church may be left at Burch Funeral Home in Birmingham.

HOOPER was born Nov. 10, 1898 near Bentonsport, the son of George and Allie ALEXANDER HOOPER. On Aug. 24, 1921 he married Iva WALLENFORD. She died Oct. 1, 1978.

Surviving are a son, Harry HOOPER, Bloomfield; a daughter, Dorothy CARTER, Hillsboro; six grandchildren; 11 great-grandchildren; two sisters, Florence GERLING, Hillsboro and Goldie HAMMONS, Fairfield.

HOOPER was a member of Stockport Christian Church and had farmed in the Pierceville community.
