ALLEN Rites At Richland

RICHLAND -- Raymond Francis ALLEN, 71, retired Richland businessman, died at 8:30 a.m. today at the Jefferson County Hospital in Fairfield.

He had been tansferred (sic) to the hospital at Fairfield from the University Hospital in Iowa City a week ago where he had been a patient for over a month.

Last rites will be Friday at 1:30 p.m. at the Gould Funeral Home in Richland with the Rev. Kenneth Pitts in charge. Burial will be in Friends Cemetery.

Raymond Francis ALLEN was born Sept. 4, 1902, near Batavia, the son of Arthur and Catherine Alice FOLEY ALLEN.

His marriage to Lucy ROSS of Clemon took place Dec. 15, 1925. She survives. He had made his home in Richland since.

After farming for a time, ALLEN did road work for Keokuk County; was with the Ben Young Farm Market 20 years; and four years with Allen Chevrolet in Richland until he retired because of ill health in 1969.

In addition to his wife, he is survived by one brother, Harold, Richland, two sisters, Mrs. Dorothy MIDDAUGH, Fairfield, and Mrs. Donald TUCKER, Richland.

He was preceded in death by three brothers, two in infancy, and a sister.
