Ruth HARRISON rite Saturday

The service for V. Ruth HARRISON, 77, 703 S. Fifth St., who died at 9:15 a.m. Thursday, May 19, 1988, at University Hospitals in Iowa City, will be at 10 a.m. Saturday at Raymond Funeral Home with the Rev. Robert Gates officiating. Burial will be in Memorial Lawn Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 7 to 8 tonight at the funeral home. A memorial has been established to First Christian Church.

Mrs. HARRISON was born May 23, 1910, at Sharpsburg, the daughter of Oliver W. and Annie RAINS MORRILL. Her family moved to Fairfield in 1920, where she lived most of her life, graduating from Fairfield High School. She married Hugh "Andy" HARRISON May 25, 1929, the first couple married in the present First Christian Church. They owned and operated Fairfield Farm Service in New Chicago for a number of years. He died April 29, 1974.

She had been a member of First Christian Church since 1934, was a co-leader of the Hannah Group of Christian Women's Fellowship and was a member of Keep Young Club.

Surviving are four daughters, Carol MILLHOLIN of Colrado Springs, Colo., Shirley MAXWELL of Osage, Kay McCLEARY of Batavia, Christy POPEJOY of Montrose; 11 grandchildren; four great-grandchildren; two brothers, Ray MORRILL of Fairfield, Paul MORRILL of Walla Walla, Wash.; two sisters, Maried SPIKER of San Diego, Calif., and Mae BONNETT of Ogden, Utah. A son and a grandson preceded her in death.
