... --Jacob GREBER was stricken with apoplexy when down town this forenoon as he was walking in front of Long's cigar store. He was taken to his home, 416 North Main street where he is in very serious condition.

Died Saturday Evening Following Stroke Of Apoplexy During Day
Jacob GREBER, who was stricken with apoplexy Saturday forenoon when downtown, died that evening about 6:30 o'clock. The funeral services were held this afternoon at 2:30 o'clock from the Baptist church, Rev. Frank E. Weston of the First Baptist church of Mt. Pleasant, an old friend of the family, assisted by Rev. W. C. Monroe, conducted the services. The Odd Fellows had charge of the services at the grave and they acted as pall bearers.
Mr. GREBER was the son of Daniel and Dora MESSER GREBER and he was born in Weisenheim-an-Berg, Germany, September 10, 1857. He came to America in 1859 when he was 1½ years old. His parents settled near Prairie Chapel and remained there until 1874 when they moved to Lower Richwoods. Mr. GREBER made his home there until 1908 when they removed to a farm adjoining Fairfield and then they moved to this city where he has since resided. April 4, 1878 he was united in marriage to Miss Jane Caroline RIDINGER and she preceded him in death March 10, 1911. Four children were born to them: Willie E., who died in infancy and Anna, who died January 16, 1923. Two sons George Frederick and Raney Ernest, both of this city, survive.
Mr. GRABER was an active and an influential member ofthe First Baptist Church and he belonged to Jefferson Lodge No. 4, I. O. O. F.

L. Dean of Batavia were here yesterday to attend the funeral of Jacob GREBER.
--Raymond RIDINGER and Mrs. Dell WATSON returned today to their homes at Murray, after being called here by the death of their uncle Jacob GREBER.
