Henry A. Weidner born Montgomery Co., Penn., Jan. 31 1833 and died a his home near Brighton, Iowa, Sept. 18 1902 aged 69-7-18. Oldest son of 8 children, 4 of whom are still living: Fred Weidner of Merrimac, Iowa; William of Sioux City, Iowa; Hanna Bush and Niedith Rieter of Philadelphia, Penn. He lived with his parents in Pennsylvania until he was 30 years of age when he went to Colo., remaining about 3 years. He then came to Jefferson County, Iowa, settling at Merrimac, where he worked at the milling trade for about 3 years. July 3 1869 married Minerva Bidwell. Six children, the eldest, Emma Jane, died in infancy; Eila Merchant of Coppock; Laura Hicks of Brighton; Myra Caviness of Packwood; and Bennie and Willie at home. At the age of 14 he was confirmed in the faith of the German Presbyterian church near his childhood home in Montgomery County.....Burial at Brighton. Hillcrest.
