J. M. McKAIN

J. M. McKAIN passed away yesterday at the home of his son J.R. McKAIN at Independence, Iowa. Mr. McKAIN had been in his usual good health, ate a hearty supper and after retiring for the night, his daughter-in-law went to his room and found he had passed away at about 10:30, death being due to the extreme heat. Burial will be made in the family lot at the Clay cememtery about 12 miles north of Fairfield, where a short service will be held at 2 o'clock and the casket opened. Mr. McKAIN was a Civil War veteran and in his 93rd year. Mrs. Cora B. SLATTERY of Fairfield is a niece and Murl MUNGER of Fairfield is a grandson of Mr. McKAIN.
