Virginia B. HANSHAW, 82, a resident of Parkview Care Center, died at 8:35 p.m. Thursday, Jan. 13, 1994, at Parkview.
The service will be at 2 p.m. Monday at Raymond Funeral Home with the Rev. George LIVESAY officiating. Burial will be in Memorial Lawn Cemetery. Family visitation will be from 3 to 5 p.m. Sunday at the funeral home. A memorial has been established to the Fairfield Park and Recreation Department.
Mrs. HANSHAW was born June 27, 1911, at Manchester, Mon., the daughter of Forest and Lillian SNIDER McGLASSON. She grew up in the Palmyra-Kirksville, Mo., area. On Dec. 15, 1934, she married W. Lloyd "Red" HANSHAW in Fairfield. He died April 28, 1978. A resident of Fairfield for the past 63 years, she was active in the Grey Ladies, volunteers at Jefferson County Hospital, and formerly was a clerk at Place's Variety Store. She was a member of the Lutheran church, Eagles Auxiliary, and Veterans of Foreign Wars Auxiliary.
Surviving are four sons, Larry of Granger, Kenneth of Atlantic, Leonard of Chesapeake, Va., Tom of Alexandria, Ala.; a daughter, Linda LIVESAY of Eugene, Ore.; 18 grandchildren; 13 great-grandchildren; and a brother, Forest "Bud" of Athens, Ga. She was preceded in death by a son, Gerald Wray, six grandchildren, and two sisters, Loyce RODGERS and Mae BENNETT.
