Wilson Monroe PARKER

Wilson Monroe PARKER, 78, of 900 W. Broadway Ave., died at 1:48 p.m. Saturday, March 25, 2000, at Ottumwa Regional Health Center in Ottumwa.

The funeral service will be held at 10:30 Tuesday at Suburban Heights Baptist Church with the Rev. Harold Baker and the Rev. Ed PARKER officiating. Burial will be in Memorial Lawn Cememetery. Family visitation will be from 6:30-8p.m. today at Behner Funeral Home. Memorials may be sent to Suburban Heights Baptist Church.

Mr. PARKER was born Sept. 15, 1921, in Rural Bunceton, Mo., the son of Frank Leslie and Mary Jemima BAUGHMAN PARKER. He married Madeline Maxine TURNER May 4, 1940, in California, Mo.

Mr. Parker lived in the Fairfield community since 1940. He attended the Clarksburg schools in Clarksburg, Mo. He was a gas foreman for Iowa Electric Light and Power Company for 30 years before his retirement. He was a United States Navy veteran of World War II. He was a member of the Suburban Heights Church in Fairfield.

Survivors include his wife; two daughters, Judy MATHES of Oskaloosa and Debi AYER of Fairfield; two sons, Ed PARKER and Mike PARKER, both of Fairfield; one brother, William H. PARKER of Fairfield; 10 grandchildren; 10 great-grandchildren; and four stepgreat-grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his parents; one daughter, Patty Jo LEPPERT; three brothers, Raymond Floyd PARKER, Paul PARKER and Ernest PARKER, who died in infancy; three sisters, Della HARRIS, Laura COLE and Gracie POTTS.

Admin. note: Buried in Lot Evergreen 41 - space 1. Wife Madeline died in 2006 and is buried beside him in space 2.
