Page 5, Column 4It has pleased the Almighty to call from this earthly existence into eternity the soul of our sister, Caroline KIENTZ, nee SHAFER. She was born 6 Apr. 1836 in Crawford County, Ohio. She came to Iowa in 1840. Shortly after her mother died her father went back to Ohio. In the spring of 1842 he returned to Iowa again, and the departed was brought up in this neighborhood. In Sept. 1858 married Christian KIENTZ. Eight children survive the mother: Emma CRAFF, Elizabeth McGUIRE, John W. KIENTZ, Anna WILLIAMS, George C. KIENTZ, Marietta SPIELMAN, W. R. KEINTZ; 17 grandchildren. Death occurred 3 October at 3:30 a.m. Age 68y. 5m. 27 days. Funeral services at Lutheran church near Germanville Oct. 4 at 2 o’clock. Remains laid to rest in the Lutheran cemetery.
