MRS PFEIFFER. Mary Agnes Meyer was born in Wurtemburg, Germany Jan. 15, 1818; married Mr. Jacob Pfeiffer in Germany in 1839. They came to the United States in 1840 and settled in Ohio where they remained six years, after which they came to Iowa and settled in Jefferson County. She was the mother of nine children, six of whom survive her, besides 38 grandchildren and 7 great-grandchildren. Her husband departed this life about six years ago. Mrs. Pfeiffer has since made her home with her son John, the only child who lives in this state, who resides about two miles from Merrimac, and who has cared for her since the death of her husband.....Sunday evening Feb. 1st she passed away.....Remains were interred in the German M. E. Cemetery, Tuesday afternoon.
